The TR156H is a versatile single-screen extender designed for a wide range of devices including. This innovative portable monitor effortlessly expands your digital workspace, enabling seamless multitasking across different applications and windows. Whether you’re a professional, a student, or a creative individual, the TR156H empowers you to work more efficiently and effectively.

Ensure your host device meets the following port requirements for successful connection:
- For 1-Cable Simplicity (Display & Power):
- Your laptop (Windows/Mac) or mobile phone needs 1x Thunderbolt USB-C port. This single cable (USB-C to USB-C, supplied) will provide both display and power.
- For Laptops without Thunderbolt video/power via USB-C:
- Your laptop needs 1x HDMI output port (for display) AND 1x USB-A port (for power).
- Connect the supplied HDMI mini (to screen) to HDMI (to laptop) cable.
- Connect the supplied USB-C (to screen) to USB-A (to laptop/power adapter) cable for power.
- For Xbox (and similar game consoles):
- Your console needs 1x HDMI output port (for display) AND a USB-A port (for power, using an A/C adapter – adapter not supplied).
- Connect the supplied HDMI mini (to screen) to HDMI (to console) cable.
- Connect the supplied USB-C (to screen) to USB-A (to A/C adapter) cable for power.
- Supplied Cables with your TR156H:
- 1 x USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable
- 1 x HDMI mini to HDMI cable
- 1 x USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable
- For 1-Cable Simplicity (Display & Power):

- Screen Not Detected / No Signal:
- Ensure all cables are securely connected to both the TR156H and your device.
- If using Thunderbolt USB-C, confirm your device’s USB-C port supports Thunderbolt video output. Not all USB-C ports do.
- If using HDMI, ensure your device’s display settings are configured to extend or duplicate the display.
- Try restarting your host device with the screen extender connected.
- Screen Not Turning On / No Power:
- If using the single USB-C Thunderbolt connection, ensure your device’s port can provide sufficient power. Some devices may require you to connect the USB-A to USB-C power cable as well, or have power settings that need adjustment.
- If using HDMI, ensure the USB-C to USB-A power cable is connected to a functioning USB port or A/C adapter that provides adequate power.
- Flickering or Unstable Display:
- Check cable connections for looseness.
- Try a different high-quality cable if possible (especially if not using the supplied ones).
- Ensure your device’s graphics drivers are up to date.
- If using USB-A for power, ensure the port is providing stable power. Try a different USB port or a dedicated USB power adapter.
- How do I check if my USB-C port is Thunderbolt?
- Look for a lightning bolt symbol next to the USB-C port on your device.
- Check your device’s specifications or manufacturer’s website.
- Screen Not Detected / No Signal:

Compatible on any laptop
Q: How to check if the Type- C port on the Laptop is an all-function port?
- If your laptop has a USB-C port with the Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 or Display port), it is a Full-function Type-C port. You can use the USB C to C cable to connect each screen.
Q: Monitor Screen display shows “No Signal”
- Laptop not equipped with a thunderbolt port, will need to use the HDMI cable from the screen to the laptop and the USB cable for power.
Q: Monitor Screen Flickers / Black Screen
- It may be that your laptop is low on battery power or the voltage is insufficient, use an extra USB-A to C cable to power up your laptop and Portable screen.
Q: The Monitor is Unstable:
- The Monitor should be placed at a stable and flat desk. The stand can be used after you adjust the angle of the laptop screen to which is most comfortable for you
Q: How to get to the set up Menu (Brightness) (Image) (Colour Temp) (OSD Setting) (Reset) (Misc)
- Press and Hold the roll key down for 2 seconds
Q:How to change the signal source
- Press the button on the right once, and select source with the roll key.
Q: How to turn the screen off
- Hold down the button on the right for a second.
Q: Why does the screen not show the full picture?
- Go to settings, select aspect ratio and set to Auto

The TR116h is a multi-screen extender designed primarily for Windows laptops.
Crucial Compatibility Note: The TR116h does NOT work with Apple notebooks using M1, M2, or M3 chipsets.-
Your Windows laptop must have the correct ports:
- Compatibility Reminder:
- Windows laptops ONLY.
- NOT compatible with Apple MacBooks using M1, M2, or M3 chips.
- Laptop must have at least 1x Thunderbolt USB-C port OR 1x USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt-Mode AND 1x HDMI port, depending on the connection method.
- Connection Option 1:
- Laptop with 1x Thunderbolt USB-C port AND 1x HDMI port:
- Connect one screen of the TR116h using the USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable from the multi-screen to the Thunderbolt USB-C port on your laptop.
- Connect the other screen of the TR116h using the HDMI mini (from multi-screen) to HDMI (to laptop) cable.
- Laptop with 1x Thunderbolt USB-C port AND 1x HDMI port:
- Connection Option 2:
- Laptop with 2x USB-C ports (one must be Thunderbolt, the other supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode for video output) and NO HDMI port:
- Connect one screen using the USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable from the multi-screen to a Thunderbolt USB-C port on your laptop.
- Connect the other screen by using the supplied USB Type-C (to laptop) to HDMI mini (to multi-screen) cable. Ensure the laptop’s second USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode).
- Laptop with 2x USB-C ports (one must be Thunderbolt, the other supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode for video output) and NO HDMI port:
- Power Note:
- Some laptops may not provide sufficient power via the USB-C port(s) to run the screen extenders.
- In this case, connect the supplied USB Type-C (from multi-screen) to USB Type-A (to laptop) cable to provide additional power.
- Supplied Cables with your TR116h:
- 1 x USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable
- 1 x USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable
- 1 x HDMI mini to HDMI cable
- 1 x USB Type-C to HDMI mini cable (for specific connection scenario)

- Screen extender not working with my Apple M1/M2/M3 MacBook:
- This is expected. The TR116h is not compatible with Apple M1, M2, or M3 chipsets due to driver and display handling limitations.
- Only one screen of the multi-screen setup is working:
- Double-check all cable connections for both screens as per the connection guides.
- Ensure your laptop’s display settings are configured to “Extend” displays and that both external monitors are detected and enabled.
- If using Option 2 for connection, verify that the USB-C port connected to the “USB Type-C to HDMI mini cable” actually supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode). Not all USB-C ports do.
- Screen(s) not detected by Windows:
- Securely reconnect all cables. Try different ports if available.
- Restart your laptop with the TR116h connected.
- Update your laptop’s graphics drivers and check for any Windows updates.
- Check your laptop’s BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure Thunderbolt or DisplayPort Alt Mode via USB-C is enabled if applicable.
- Insufficient power messages or screen(s) not turning on:
- Connect the USB Type-C to USB Type-A power cable from the TR116h to a USB-A port on your laptop or a separate USB power adapter. This is often necessary.
- Display issues on the screen connected via the “USB Type-C to HDMI mini” cable:
- Ensure this cable is correctly oriented and securely plugged in.
- Confirm the laptop’s USB-C port used for this connection supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- Test with another compatible device if possible to isolate the issue.
- Screen extender not working with my Apple M1/M2/M3 MacBook:

Compatible Devices: Windows, Android and Mac with an Intel Operating system. This monitor extender runs on a variety of operating systems and has great compatibility. No need to install drivers, just follow the instructions to connect and instantly enjoy the efficiency of multi-screen work. Mac OS M1/M2/M3 chipsets are not currently supported!
Q: The Screen says no signal
- Check if the cable is connected to the correct USB-C port on the screen extender
- Check if the laptop has a Type-C Thunderbolt port
- Check for software updates on your laptop
- Check if the HDMI cable & USB Cable are not damaged

- Go to the display on your computer, click on Detect Display.
- Select extend on the duplicate screen.
